Creative Jam Nights

Come jam, share something you’ve been working on, explore musical ideas, or soak up some live music in a casual house concert setting. Creative Jam Night is an opportunity to explore and share your musical talents: lock into a groove, step outside your comfort zone, try a different instrument, test drive new material, throw an idea on the table to play with or ponder, or just go with the flow, hang out and enjoy the show. The first half of the night will be for jamming and creative exploration of different themes and ideas, the second half will be for performances from anyone who wishes to share. If no one has anything particular to share, then we keep jamming. Performances are encouraged though and can range in length from short and sweet to longer sets (say 30 min) – it's totally up to the artist. From refined songs to works in progress to improvisations – all music ideas (and art forms for that matter) are welcome. The idea is to stimulate and inspire each other by sharing what we can. As for the jammin, Victor Wooten explains it well - check out his video on music as a language below.

The key is to come with an open mind and be willing to try new things. You’re only likely to discover as much as you try.

WHEN: 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. Jam starts at 9pm, performances start around 11pm
